Delete your account
You can ask us to delete your Bombay Drum School app account and its data at any time. You don't need to visit the school, and you don't need the App installed.
How to request deletion
- Email bombaydrumschool@gmail.com with the subject "Delete my account". You can also send a WhatsApp message or SMS to +91 90043 94628, or ask at the front desk.
- Include your full name and the mobile number you use to sign in.
- We check that the request comes from the account holder. For example, we may ask you to confirm from that mobile number. A parent or guardian can ask for a child's account to be deleted.
- We delete the account within 7 days of confirming the request, and tell you when it's done.
Uninstalling the App does not delete your account.
What we delete
- Your name and mobile number on your account record. Your short name on past bookings becomes "Deleted user".
- All your future bookings and holds, which are cancelled and released to other students.
- Your push notification token, booking screen activity and pending sign-in codes.
- Your access. The account is blocked from our servers at once and can't sign in again. Devices still signed in are signed out the next time they connect. A background task then removes your mobile number from our sign-in provider and disables the account there.
- Analytics, crash reports and session recordings linked to your account, which we ask PostHog to delete.
What we keep, and for how long
- Past booking and attendance records (dates, studios, practice hours, no-show marks), the record of how your account was created, and the activity log of bookings, cancellations and account changes. The school needs these for its attendance records, disputes and security. They can still show your name, and some show your mobile number, as they were at the time. They are not deleted automatically. We review them at least once a year and delete or anonymise records the school no longer needs.
- A disabled record at our sign-in provider (Firebase Authentication) with your account ID and name, but no mobile number.
- Database backups, which are overwritten within 30 days.
- Anything we must keep by law, only for as long as the law requires.
